Denver (LAKE NORMAN) ~ Lincoln County Property Tax/Fire District Tax/Sewer Tax

This year was the year that Lincoln County did property revaluations. Yes, most people have seen a HUGE increase and few have seen little or none. Due to the increase Lincoln County Commissioners have set the new tax rate at .57 per $100 valuation; which is four cents less. Commissioners had hoped to set the rate at .50 per $100, but in May voters approved a $44 million school bond referendum and rejected a quarter cent sales tax increase to fund it.
Commissioners approved changes in the local fire district taxes, too. East Lincoln and Denver property owners should check with their insurance companies for possible rate reductions due to improved fire service ratings.
Even though East Lincoln Sewer District is currently tapped out people in this district will see a reduction in their tax rate to two cents per $100 valuation.
