Lake Norman Boating ~ Public Lake Access Areas & Lakeside Parks Offers Boat Launches

So you are planning your first house hunting trip to the Lake Norman area. One item on your wish list is finding a house close to a place that you can put your boat into the lake. So just where can you do that at? Although Lake Norman's shoreline has been given over to commercial and residential development, there are a number of "Lake Access Areas" and "Lakeside Parks" where the public can launch boats.

Lake Access Areas:
•1) Beatties Ford, Unity Church Road, Denver, NC
•2) Blythe Landing, NC 73, Cornelius, NC
•3) Hagar Creek, Kemp Road, Mooresville, NC
•4) Lake Norman State Park, State Park Road, I-77 at Exit 42, Troutman, NC
•5) Little Creek, Webbs Chapel Road, Denver, NC
•6) Long Island, Long Island Road, Catawba, NC
•7) McCrary Creek, NC 150, Mooresville, NC
•8) Pinnacle, NC 150, Mooresville, NC
•9) Ramsey Creek, Nantz Road, Cornelius, NC
•10) Stumpy Creek, Perth Road, Mooresville, NC

Lakeside Parks:
•1) Lake Norman State Park, State Park Road, Troutman, NC
•2) Stumpy Creek Park, Perth Road, Mooresville, NC
•3) Ramsey Creek Park, Nantz Road, Cornelius, NC
•4) Jetton Park, Jetton Road, Cornelius, NC
•5) Blythe Landing County Park, NC 73, Cornelius, NC
•6) Mountain Island Lake Park, Cowans Ford Waterfowl Refuge, Huntersville, NC

~ My personal favorite is Blythe Landing County Park; it offers a super nice playground and sand volleyball including all the other usual park amenities.
~ Lake Norman State Park is the only public swim beach on Lake Norman.

Note: Lake Norman State Park is the former Duke Power State Park.

P.S.: And don't forget to call me; I like showing people the place I call home!!
